Dana is a former student of mine, and when she was in my digital photography class last year, we learned that we both have vacation property in the 1000 Islands. Dana wanted to have her senior portraits taken up there, so we were able to coordinate a time that we were both up there for her session. We went to Keewaydin State Park on a blindingly sunny day; here are some of our favorites from the day:
We started on the sunny side of the park:
And with a vintage coloring effect:
The waves from the lake made this dock so unstable that we couldn't even stand. Undeterred, we both sat down for this great shot:
The sun was being a little aggressive, so we searched for some shade. This is my favorite shot of the day:
And with a vintage coloring effect:
We then moved to the slightly-less-sunny side of the park:
And with a color cast:
And with an artistic treatment:
We had a great time, and we were both so happy that Dana was able to get her senior portraits done in a place that was so meaningful to her.

Malissa's Senior Portraits (part 1)
We've been planning to do Malissa's senior portraits for about a year now, when she was just starting out her junior year. We had done her sister Angela's senior portraits, and the whole family just loved them so much, there was no question about where Malissa would go for hers!
Malissa has a very bubbly, outgoing personality, which we wanted to reflect in her photos. She chose the beach as her first location, and we suggested Charlotte's beach for its varied backgrounds. We started on the pier, and walked our way down to the boardwalk and the firehouse on the other side, shooting the whole way.
Here are some of our favorite shots:

And with an artistic treatment:
Even though the sun was trying to kill us (and almost succeeded!) we got some great photos and we had a great time!
Stay tuned for Malissa's urban shoot later!

Alexis' Senior Portraits (part 1)
Alexis is another one of our seniors who took full advantage of our unique senior pricing and booked two locations. For our first shoot, she decided to go to Nazareth AND St. John Fisher college. Nazareth has a lot of red brick, and Fisher has white, and Alexis picked the perfect outfit to do with each different look. Here are some of our favorites:
We started at Nazareth:
We then headed over to St. John Fisher:
Our last stop was the woods on East River Road, where we ran into a family of deer, and took these great shots:
We had a great day, and got some really lovely photos! Stay tuned for our second session with Alexis later!
