PHOTO FLASHBACK: sunken garden senior portraits

Lately we have been booking a lot of senior portraits for the late summer and early autumn. As I've said before, senior portrait season is one of my favorite times of year. I like that we can really create photos that express a part of our subject's personality.

So for this Photo Flashback I thought it would be fun to go back into the vaults and find some very old senior portraits.

These senior portraits were shot in the Sunken Gardens on Mt. Hope, with effects added to enhance the feel we wanted for the photos:

Our next Photo Flashback will be in August. Is there something specific you'd like to see? Let us know!

If you would like us to shoot your (or your child's) senior portraits, please email us at perezsisters@gmail.com

Electric Invitations

I was recently commissioned to create invitations and matching thank you cards for a topping out party for an electrician. They didn't really have any idea in mind for what they wanted, other than they wanted them to be related to the electrician field somehow, and they wanted something completely unique - something noone else will ever have had (a request we get a lot!).

I love when I have free reign over an idea, because it gives me the opportunity to be creative with out any restraints.

As anyone who has seen my lego invitations - or other graphic design pieces I've done - can attest, I like to anthropomorphise. I decided to create some electric characters for these invitations:

After I had my photographs, I edited them a little (especially the plug - he looked so sad!) and put them as the main design elements in the stationery pieces.

We all were very pleased with how these turned out. They are fun and put a smile on my face each time I look at them!

Geoffrey's First Communion

We recently did portraits at a First Communion party for a really nice young man named Geoffrey. It was a very joyous occasion and Geoffrey's whole family was there to celebrate with him:

While we were there, Geoffrey's mom Debbie told us that she took Geoffrey to a well known "photo mill" to get first communion portraits taken, and she was quite disappointed in how they turned out. We were not expecting to, but we did a few impromptu communion portraits:

Debbie is an amazing baker, and she made three adorable cakes, all befitting the occasion:

She also had a special cake knife and really cute favors:

We were very honored to be able to be a part of Geoffrey's special day!

Certificado Especial

With the end of the school year comes Finney's big Academic Awards Ceremony. A few weeks ago the Spanish teacher approached me, wanting a certificate specifically designed just for her. She was tired of the cookie-cutter certificates that everyone uses, and really wanted something different and cool that noone else would have.

She came to the right place, because one-of-a-kind is our speciality!

Here is the certificate I made for her:
